The Germans won 3 of their last 5 games, drawing the last two. Those draws were the crazy 4-4 home draw against Sweden (4-0 to 4-4), followed by a boring 0-0 draw against their Dutch neighbours. They are 1st of their WC qualifiers group with 3 points ahead of Sweden, but one more game played than the Swedes.
This game is one of the most expected of this International friendly window. France is doing well under Didier Deschamps. In their last 5 games, they are 3-1-1. The loss was against Japan in a friendly game, but since then they got two convincing performances. A 1-1 draw in Spain, thanks to a 94th minute goal from Giroud. This draw allows them to tie the 1st spot of their World Cup qualifiers group with the Spanish. It was followed by a solid 2-1 win in Italy (friendly game as well).
The French squad traditionally does very well against major nations in friendly fixtures. The man to watch will be Ribery who has been playing in Bundesliga for 6 years now, along with Karim Benzema. Both of them have always had a much better level in their club than for France though.
In terms of missing players, Germany will be without some of their very talented players like Schweinsteiger, Gotze and Reus.
